Ground Floor Gallery announces an open call for submission to “From the Ground Up.“

From the Ground Up, a common idiom that means developing something from a simple concept to a more complex reality, is the inspiration for Ground Floor Gallery’s inaugural show. As an artist, please interpret ‘From the Ground Up’ using a metaphorical meaning or a literal representation in the work you are submitting for consideration.

Open to all 2D and 3D media no larger than 72″w x 72″l x 72″h, including but not limited to drawing, painting, photography, book art, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, glass, encaustic, ceramics, mixed media, wood, digital art, video, and installation addressing the theme.

Curator Elizabeth Schlatter, Deputy Director and Co-Curator at the museums of the University of Richmond, in Va., will select work.

Finalist will be given a solo exhibition at a future date. Both Elizabeth Schlatter and Ground Floor Gallery Founder, Janet Decker Yanez, will select award recipient.
Early deadline to submit work is October 15th, 2012. Final deadline to submit is October 25th. Submission fee increases after the early deadline (see below).
Submissions: early submission fee is $20 for 3 images (Oct 15) final deadline submission fee is $30 for 3 images (Oct 25).
Early submission fee is $40 for 6 images (Oct 15), final deadline submission fee is $50 for 6 images (Oct 25).
Submission fees are non-refundable. Additional images may be submitted $10/image.
Within a few days of submission, you will receive an email indicating your work has been received and is being reviewed.

Artists are responsible for installing their own work, if complicated, and all shipping and delivery costs before and after each show. Shipped work must include pre-paid, return postage which includes pickup at the gallery.

Ground Floor Gallery does not provide insurance. By submitting to this show, artist is accepting these terms.

Artists set their own prices, keep 100% of their sales, and handle their own transactions by accepting their preferred method(s) of payment. Artists deliver or ship their sold work to buyers or buyers can pick up at the gallery after artist receives payment. Artists have a chance to establish ongoing relationships with their buyers because of this direct purchase feature.
