East Nashville Cafe/Bakery Seeks Kitchen Manager

A Cafe/Gluten-Free Bakery in the charming neighborhood of Lockeland Springs seeks full time, experienced kitchen/bakery manager. Do you love good food? How about food that's good for you? At The Post, we strive to combine the two by feeding folks food that loves them back! We would like someone to start mid to late August 2017.

Duties include:

The kitchen manager is responsible for the overall operations for the back of house and kitchen area. The kitchen manager hires staff, purchases food and stock, and makes sure everyone is trained on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques. In addition, the kitchen manager ensures that The Post's standards are upheld, the food looks good and is cooked properly, the proportions are correct, and it is cooked and served quickly.

Job Skills and Requirements:

-Restaurant management experience is required
-Experience working in a gluten free environment is a plus
-Baking experience
-Customer Service
-Attention to Detail
-Management Skills (inventory, food costs, pricing, creating work
schedules, etc.)
-Organizational Skills
-Problem-Solving Skills
- Excellent Communication Skills
-Knowledge of food production & baking required--Preferably 3
years experience
-Knowledge of Vegan & Gluten-free cooking & techniques a plus
-Checking quality of line production and baked goods daily
-Enforcing health code rules & regulations
-Ensuring clean and sanitary work methods
-Enforcing daily & nightly cleaning
-Daily & weekly ordering & inventory
-Teaching, leading, and managing employees
-Conflict resolution
-Making all foods from scratch including soups, sauces, jams,
kimchi, and vegetarian sausage
-Bringing in seasonal baked goods and dishes for holidays
-Allergy & dietary restriction awareness
-Working line & baker shifts
-Putting away and organizing orders
-Keeping dry storage spaces and refrigerators organized with
limited space
-Running expo during Saturday & Sunday brunch & ensuring
beautiful plate presentation
-Stamina to work through long shifts
-Early morning shifts
-Hiring & training new employees
-Formulating Recipes & keeping recipe book & ingredient lists up to
-Creating new seasonal sandwiches
-Talking to customers
-A love of scratch made foods
-Creating a changing and seasonal weekend brunch menu. Each

Saturday and Sunday we offer an 8 item brunch menu with four staples, and four changing items based on what is in house, and what is offered from our farmers in the area.
